      Hi Mary Ann,

Before setting up an Advocate Appointment, you will need to speak with one of our Eligibility Consultants. They will ask you a few questions about your medical condition(s) and past work history to determine your eligibility. This is a free consultation, that will give you some information on what your next steps should be regarding the SSDI application process. I hope you’ll give us a call at 866-761-5942.

I have an appointment on the 25th of this month. My question is how far back do you need work history and also do you need my husband and daughters social security number.

    • Freedom Disability, October 22, 2012 at 11:51 am

      Jill,

You need to have worked 5 years out of the last 10 years. If you daughter is under 18 years old, then we will need her social security number. Your advocate will explain everything to you during your interview. You are in good hands. Good luck.

I started drawing dissability around 1997 and they changed it over to regular SS when I got 65, is there anything I can draw any extra on this I had lung cancer 2 years ago. I could do small jobs until I had this now I can’t do anything. Could you please advise me about this

    • Freedom Disability, December 4, 2012 at 5:16 pm

      Clayton,

SSDI and Retirement come from the same fund. At age 65 everyone will switch from disability to retirement. SInce you are already receiving the maximum benefit, there is nothing extra available. Sorry I don’t have a better answer for you. Good luck.

      Lindsey,

I’m sorry, we are only allowed to speak with you on the phone. Is there any other way for you to get to a phone? Your local library, possibly? A friend?

You have my name now let me tell you a brief story about my disability.I was injured in 1996 when I fell 15ft & landed on a fence between my legs.Wokeup 4days later in ICU with a colostomy bag & urine tubes. The domino effect of the fall was lumbar spine surgeries plus cervical spine rt shoulder rt knee twice a total of ten surgeries.I applied for SSDI& was denied no appeal was filed by my attorney.Went back to court with a public defender & was only able to get SSI.I’m 55yrs old now & my health is a lot worse now & before injury had a work history. This system failed me in a way that makes me so angry.I’ve had one review of my case years ago & never had a chance to present new medical evidence. To be classified with people who never worked a day in their lives is very frustrating. How in God’s name can they get the same money as me.I know of people who receive the amount I get for doing nothing. Is that a fair system or do they make it work in their advantageI don’t think you can help me in this matter or has to much time past.I would love an opportunity to take them on in court one more time.Thank You for your time.
