Find Financial Relief Through HelpWell

What is HelpWell?

Our Freedom Disability customers get more from working with us.  Not only do we specialize in building strong Social Security Disability cases that win, we also give our customers ways to find immediate financial relief while they wait for a decision on their disability case.

Why did we do this? Because we listened to your feedback and know that not only do you need disability benefits, which can take months to receive, you need relief now.  We give you exclusive access to an Internet-based tool called HelpWell, that connects you to local and national benefit programs designed to save you money. As a Freedom Disability customer, you can find dozens of programs to meet your needs such as:

HelpWell Benefits List

How Does it Work?

After becoming a Freedom Disability customer, you will be provided with a username and password that gives you access to Freedom Square (www.freedomsquare.com).  There you will be able to track the status of your case in real time, talk with other claimants and find additional benefit programs using our HelpWell database.  The HelpWell tool will walk you through a series of questions such as your age, income level, where you live, marital status, etc.  Your answers feed into our database which returns a custom list of benefit programs unique to your situation. When you find a program your interested in, you select it and are sent to the program’s site where you can apply or gather additional information.

How Much Will it Cost Me?

Freedom Disability has invested the resources to develop the HelpWell search tool and provides it to our customers at no additional cost.

How Do I Get Started?

Contact us today for a free eligibility consultation.  If you choose to work with us, you will be given online access to HelpWell following your first appointment with one of our advocates who will develop your disability case.

I have spinal stenosis, herinated disks, and scoliosis, in my spine. I also have carpel tunnel in my right wrist(which i already had surgery for but it didn’t work), I also have arthritis in my neck, shoulder, back and spine.I have been dealing with this for the last three years and it just gets worse no matter what i do. I have been to a chiropracter, I have done physical therapy, have gotten multiple cortisone and steroid shots in my spine, I have had many x-rays,mri’s, and even had a nerve test because I have a fatty tumor on my right elbow(on the part of my elbow that bends. I hurt if i am sitting, standing, laying down, it don’t really matter what i am doing. I am always in pain, I have more bad days than good. My doctor (an orthopedic) says that he won’t take me out of work yet because I would hurt more if i stopped working but alot of times it bothers me more when i am at work. I have always worked, i am still working but i don’t know how much longer i can because of the pain. My specialist won’t take me out of work but i know if i applied for disability that i could be waiting a long time and financially i can’t afford to do that. I went to social service for some help but they told me i make to much money for three people for them to help me with my rent, but i get food stamps. Would i be eligible for ssd and if so how would i get my doctor to take me out of work.

      Ann,
The process for proving that a medical condition, if it does not clearly meet an impairment identified by SSA as a disability, can be long and difficult. You absolutely do need the support of your doctor if you want to apply for disability benefits. SSA will review your medical history and, based on all evidence, determine what your functional capacity is for work. If it matches what you already do, you won’t be eligible. To get a better understanding on how SSA determines disability, please read our story about an injured carpenter and how SSA followed vocational guidelines to determine disability. If your doctor thinks you can work, there’s probably not much you can do to change that opinion.
